2019 Quilts

Here are the flimsies and quilts I have finished this year.

1. Memoire a Paris 9-Patch. Begun on January 1st; finished to the flimsy stage on January 6th.

2. Moda Love. Begun on January 25; finished quilt top on January 28. The pattern is free from the Moda website; they hosted a sewalong leading up to Valentine's Day using this pattern which is suitable for layer cakes, charm packs or mini-charm packs. This is made with a layer cake by 3 Sisters called Grace. When I finally got my Tin Lizzie going in November, I quilted it, and then I gifted it to Mom for Christmas!

3. Double 9-Patch with "good" blocks. (below)

4. Double 9-Patch with "wonky" blocks. These two quilts came from one UFO tub - I began this over 20 years ago, stopped because none of the pieced blocks finished at a consistent size; fixed the problem by making two quilts. Done in February.

5. 9-Patch Exchange with Frankfort Girls.

6. Navy Churn Dash on field of Poison Green ~ begun Sat. March 2; finished top on Mon., March 4.

7. 9 Pillowcases. Made with fabric from Sheryll's mom; Sheryll will be donating these and many, many more to a Circleville, OH, charity.

8. Blue Lagoon ~ a jelly roll friendly-quilt; made with a Minick and Simpson JR and a neutral from the stash; begun at Canter's Cave.

I quilted Blue Lagoon at Terry's and in September I gave this quilt to my nephew Will and his bride Kristi for their wedding present. I also made pillowcases to match and gave them to Kristi for a bridal shower gift.

9. Weathervane - I have had this quilt dog-eared in a book for over 15 years, or close to it. Finally, I went to work on it and I am so glad! This was a fast finish, as the pieces are big.

10. Front Porch - I just had an urge to use some of the "newer" fabric I'd been buying, so this is what I came up with. It's just a table-topper size, and Emma has dibs on it.

11. Hardy T-Shirt Quilt #1 - Made the top in May; quilted it in November; delivered in December.

12. Hardy T-Shirt Quilt #2 - Made the top in May; quilted it in November; delivered in December.

13. Caleb's T-Shirt Quilt - Made the quilt top in May; quilted in November; and bound in December right before the end of the year.

14. OSU T - Shirt Quilt - Made the top in May; quilted in September; donated to Kevin's fraternity alumni for scholarship fundraiser. It made $1580.

15. Graham's Baby Quilt

16. Cross-Body Bag

17. Second, smaller cross-body bag.

18. Quilter's Planner Quilt-Along - I had no plan to make this quilt, but I did, and I actually finished the entire quilt top on schedule, a first for me. I found the border fabric in my stash, and also have a larger stash find for the backing. The block fabric is Memoire a Paris by Lecien; it was leftover from the #1 quilt above.

19. Six Degrees - another UFO from a l-o-n-g time ago. I know I worked on this initially at a Veteran's Day event at Sherrie Tener's, but have no clue as to how long ago that was. Anyway, I wanted to finish another UFO, and this went together easily. I have no idea why I stopped working on it. The pattern is by Carrie Nelson of Miss Rosie Quilts.

20. Jelly Roll Challenge Quilt - On a whim I decided to do a JR quilt in September. I didn't get it finished until a couple months later, but I really like it. I made up the pattern.

21. Fall Table Runner - I wanted this for my table, but ended up using it on the counter. It was a total impulse.

22. Fall Topper for Sandy - Another impulse - my sister said she needed a fall item for her island, so this is what I made her.

23. Harry Potter Robes - When the nieces ask, one must deliver!

24. Fred and Wilma Costumes - for a fun costume party we attended!

25. Ticking Bedspread for Guest Room - I totally made this up and I absolutely love it!

26 - Later, I added pillow shams and a throw pillow to match.

27. For a Frienzies Christmas gift, I made a pillow; appliqued a red pickup truck and used a drop cloth. Sharon P. got this gift!

28. Simple Friendships II Quilt-Along with Frankfort Girls - Fun and friendships! This was not planned, and yet one of my favorites!

29. Another UFO - I started this Halloween table cloth 2 years ago and stopped because I didn't have Wonder-Under; such a lame excuse; I finished it this year.

30. Porch Curtains - Another home decorating project; I used drop cloth fabric to make these; we loved how they enhanced our screened porch.
