A Heavy Dose of Sweetness

You will not believe the cuteness I woke up to this morning on a certain famous social media site.

 Meet 18-month-old Nora. She is loving on her Kissing Fishes quilt. Do you remember it?

Here are some reminders. This is Nora as a newborn. Here is the post about her quilt being finished. I had a couple of posts prior to that in which I wrote about making the quilt. Click here and here for those.

Isn't it a good feeling when you know that someone is using and loving and cuddling in a quilt you made? I always feel a real sense of accomplishment when I see my quilts being used. Wear them out! They need to be loved!

I have to tell you what's been going on around here while I've tried to write this post. For as brief as it is, it has been an hour or more in the making. DS has lost his wallet. He knew he'd last had it here at the house, so it wasn't like it was lost-lost. Digging in couch cushions, cars, laundry - all the usual places. During that frantic process, he went to the fridge to get a glass of juice. Someone (not me) had put a glass of soda in the back - no lid, and he knocked it over as he pulled out the juice. In the fridge. Spilled soda. Everywhere. In his exasperated efforts to clean it up, he was making the kitchen a bigger mess. I had to take over. So now we have a really clean fridge; DS will sweep and mop (the floor is sticky) in a bit, and yes, he's found his wallet. Happy ending. Ah, such is life, right?

And with that, I will hit the 'publish' button, and this post can finally be finished!

Adorable Overload

I won't need many words for today's post; the old adage a picture is worth a thousand words applies.

Nora is showing off her quilt for us! Isn't she the very picture of a happy baby? I am thrilled that Momma Erin is using the quilt, and so grateful to Gramma Vickie for sending the adorable picture! I just want to cuddle this little cutie, don't you?

Sweet Nora

Don't you just love it when a quilt that you made for someone is at last in their possession? I began working on the Kissing Fishes quilt way back in the spring, I think, and finally at the beginning of this month, I was able to give it to Nora and her momma, Erin.

Members of Erin's family hosted a baby shower, so this was the deadline I was working with. I am happy to report that I had it all done in plenty of time. So unlike me, though!

Isn't Nora precious? She is sleeping so peacefully in her mother's loving arms. The quilt looks good on her!!

It was rather difficult modeling a quilt with a sleeping bundle of joy in her arms, but moms learn early on to juggle, so Erin has things quite under control!

 

So this is one bit of business wrapped up and delivered. So happy to be getting back to blogging!

Introducing...

We have a baby to introduce!

Eleanor Rose "Nora" Schrader arrived on July 13, one day past her due date. She weighed in at 8 lbs. 3 oz. Mom and baby had an uneventful delivery, and everyone is smitten with this sweet babe.

Here is the first picture I received via text message from Gramma Vickie. I would say that Nora is just a day old here.

A few days older - about 6 or 7 days. Still sleeping! I think Vickie will be quite sad at having to come back to Ohio this weekend. Trips to Wisconsin may become much more frequent, wouldn't you say?

I am told that Nora will travel to Ohio with her parents in a few months. While here there will be a baby shower. That is when Nora will get her quilt. I promise to follow up with pictures of Nora snuggling In her Kissing Fishes quilt.
