Tuffets Aplenty

These are the three Tuffets that Sheryll made - with Jan's help - on Tuesday when we sewed at Terry's.  Sheryll had already arranged with Jan for some instruction, and so the two of them were hard at work all morning. Sheryll came with her strips already sewn together. The work for Tuesday, then, was largely upholstery in nature.

And bit by bit, the Tuffets were finished. The first one - yellow and gray.

The second one - scarlet and gray.

The third one - black and beige. What fun. Sheryll will remove all the feet, paint them, and reattach. Then they will be ready for Christmas gift-giving! Whoo-hoo!

I am late getting this blog posted today. We have had crazy-strong winds all day long, and the internet was affected, I suppose. We had spotty service. Then my computer told me it needed to update or whatever, and we had to pause for a reboot. Lots going on in the sewing room, so I will be back tomorrow!

Friends Who Create

Jan and JoAnn, two of the group I quilt with every other Friday morning, got together a week ago to do a project together. They sent pictures of their handiwork, but I completely forgot about sharing.

Here is a link to the pattern they used.  Jan gathered all the necessary tools and notions needed for completing the tuffet. She always seems to be giant leaps ahead - while I'm still thinking about doing one thing, she's finished ten!

Mail Call!

Yesterday's mail brought a sweet little surprise all the way from California, no less! The Tuffets pattern I won in the recent Schnibbles Parade is just as cute as can be, and I have a mountain of scraps I can use to begin making some! Very excited about creating some Tuffets, that's for sure!

Pincushions have become quite the rage lately, if Pinterest is any indication. There are multitudes of options, too. This patriotic Sweet Libery pattern will definitely be a hit with some of my friends, I'm sure.

So, the fine folks at Bear Paw Quilts didn't stop with a pattern. They included a bonus goodie! A charm pack of a Sandy Klop fabric called ABC 123. I just love it! I have a small stash of Sandy's fabrics up in the quilting room, so this will blend right in with them. What a great bonus. Thanks to Donna, owner of Bear Paw! *doing a happy dance!*

That top fabric look like it's a juvenile line but it really is more of a 30s-looking fabric. I am confident I will be able to use it, regardless of the look.
