Special Delivery

About a week ago when I stopped at the mailbox, I was greeted by the most pleasant surprise.

Most often, we come from the direction that allows us to pull the car right up to the mailbox and get the mail from the front. I'd seen some grass sticking out the front, but hadn't taken the time to investigate.

From the back, the situation is clear as can be! We are hatching a robin family!

I didn't touch a thing besides the mail. I hope all goes well. That one egg looks like it might not be viable; perhaps all the rest are fine. We shall give Mother Robin all the space she needs until this little business is finished.

Hope you have a wonderful Thursday!
Happy Quilting, Friends!

  1. How lovely! The birds visiting our garden have switched from having beaks full of nesting material to beaks full of grubs. I guess it won't be long before we see the first fledglings! I hope your robin successfully rears her chicks.
